Think of some things that you or someone you know, has done or currently does. We can even express some activities or ways of “being” that we want to do or express, but have not gotten to that point yet.

I will start with a few…

1. We are caught meditating while waiting for the bus.
2.We are seen skipping to our car, as we are off to work; with a big smile on our face!

The human mind in combination with our consiousness is a powerful creator; however the mind in it’s normal state creates suffering. This suffering in larger terms stems mostly from Ignorance; otherwise the lack of true understanding and wisdom that suffering does not happen to us….we create suffering through our attachments and our aversions(dislikes). We create attachments to our material belongings, our image, physical appearance, needs and desires, people in our lives and our life; from constantly grasping and craving more, and trying desperatly to keep everthying just as it is.
Through aversion and fear we push our problems/issues, things, people, places and emotions away, instead of dealing with them directly and deepening our understanding of why we fear them in the first place. How do we “awaken” to this understanding? Through what means can we trully understand this wisdom? How does understanding “suffering” bring us true happiness? why has society as a whole, placed all it’s energy on convincing us to better ourselves through changing our external apearances? buying our way to happiness and wellbeing; that we are not “someone” unless we live up to a certain standard. How can we change this way of thinking? Do we want to?

I am interested in hereing what you have to say. Bring your point of view, your understandings and misunderstandings. do you agree with this wisdom teaching, or not? If you have gained the wisdom and understanding of this “truth”, what can you add to this teaching? What have you done to “awaken” to this understanding (meditation, Yoga, contemplation)?? If you want to understand the truth of Suffering, but don’t know how, let us know.

I will continue to add to this topic as comments come in.
Blessings to all.
